Description:
TLG is on the lookout for experienced CFD engineers to join our elite team of talented problem solvers. Our team supports a variety of aerospace development programs from infancy through certification. Applications range from low-speed all-electric airplanes to hypersonic aircraft and space planes.
As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you would provide technical expertise and analytical solutions to support the design, development, and certification of new aircraft and aircraft modifications. Working independently and as part of a small, fast-moving team on advanced development projects, you’ll find your collaboration and communication skills are an essential part of the job. Applicants should have a theoretical knowledge of aerodynamics, exhibit formidable scripting and numerical problem-solving skills, and be proficient with MATLAB or other transferable programming language. Experience with running a commercial CFD program in a production environment is preferred.
Expectations: Engineers in this role may be expected to perform the following tasks:
- CAD manipulation to support aerodynamic analysis
- CFD mesh generation (familiarity with ANSA or STAR-CCM+ is a plus)
- Management of cloud computing resources (familiarity with Linux is a plus)
- Perform CFD analysis (familiarity with STAR-CCM+ or FUN3D is a plus)
- Flow field visualization (familiarity with Tecplot is a plus)
- Data analysis and process automation (Matlab and Python)
- Wind tunnel and flight test support
- Provide support for flight sciences analysis
Location: The work is located in Seattle, WA. and will be primarily hybrid-based work environments which will consists of both onsite and work-from-home options. Each project would be dependent upon the role and experience. Applicants should be prepared to reside within a commuting distance of the Seattle corporate office.
Experience: Entry Level to 10+ years of applied experience in Flight Sciences Engineering.
U.S. Persons Requirement: Applicants must be able to show proof of U.S. citizenship or ‘Green Card’ as part of the ability to meet ITAR Compliance standards. TLG Aerospace is an ITAR (International Traffic in Arms) defense manufacturing partner facility that works with government/federal military parts, military schematic drawings, and perform defense services that require our company to ask about U.S. Persons status as part of the verification during the pre-hire process.
Education: B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent science or engineering degree with industry experience relevant to the position.
