Blue Environmental is actively seeking a part time Intern for our Seattle/Tacoma team. The ideal candidate will share in our mission for helping industrial and construction clients comply with state and federal regulations, providing efficient and detailed support for our growing company. This is an exceptional opportunity for an aspiring professional to gain invaluable hands-on experience in the environmental compliance sector.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our diverse portfolio of industrial and construction clients. This support will primarily involve assisting them in navigating and adhering to complex state and federal environmental regulations. The intern will be instrumental in ensuring our clients maintain compliance records, thereby mitigating risks and fostering sustainable operations.
We are specifically looking for an individual who can provide efficient, meticulous, and proactive assistance to our expanding company. This includes, but is not limited to, tasks such as data entry, document review, research, report preparation support, and field assistance as needed. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess strong organizational skills, and be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. This internship offers a unique chance to contribute meaningfully to a company committed to environmental stewardship and client success, while developing a comprehensive understanding of environmental consulting practices.
Ideal Experience:
– Completed or in progress B.S. in Environmental Studies, Science, Engineering or related field
– Background in customer service- Experience in stormwater and wastewater sampling- Ability to travel to client locations up to 100 miles outside of Seattle (Mandatory: Active Driver’s License, Vehicle & Insurance)- Experience working independently with limited manager supervision
– Knowledge of basic laboratory testing procedures, including sampling techniques and chain of custody protocols
Typical projects to include:
– Lab data audits, report preparation for delivery to clients, tracking projects and assisting other colleagues with their office workload.- After a training period, weather-dependent stormwater sampling with the majority of sampling completed at the beginning of each annual quarter.- Preparing and maintaining sampling and inspection records electronically
The majority of the role will take place at our office in Ballard. The schedule is flexible but would be a minimum of 16 hours a week and possibly more depending on the workload.
