Scott Armstrong
Scott Armstrong is an experienced Board Director and Chief Executive Officer. His career has largely been focused on improving the effectiveness of our nation’s health care system. In this pursuit, his wide-ranging leadership experience includes leading a nationally recognized health care system and taking the reins of an early-stage venture-funded medical device company. He’s been a partner and advisor to health system CEOs, public policy leaders, start-up founders, and venture investors.
As Scott’s work expands beyond health care, he remains compelled to solve the complex problems that have meaningful implications for the people living in communities around us. These include headline-grabbing issues like the unfair and uneven access to quality health care services, the slow pace of adopting new technologies for better health, or the overdue conversion of carbon-producing energy to clean, green sources.
Board Experience
- Puget Sound Energy. PSE is Washington state’s premier local energy company, providing electric and natural gas service to homes and businesses across the Pacific Northwest. Scott served as Board Chair and Independent Director for more than a decade.
- Delta Dental of Washington. DDWA is the largest dental benefits provider in Washington and part of the nationwide Delta Dental Plans Association. The company offers affordable, high-quality dental plans for the full spectrum of businesses, individuals, and families. Scott currently serves as Vice Chair and Independent Director.
- SpringRock Ventures. Scott serves on the Investment Review Board of SpringRock Ventures, a venture fund investing in entrepreneurial teams that are solving critical health care issues in disruptive ways.
- National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). Scott serves on the Board of the Northwest Chapter of the NACD, which is the recognized authority on leading boardroom practices. NACD helps to ensure that today’s directors are well prepared for tomorrow’s challenges.
