Opportunity through partnership: Parametrix’s investment in Washington’s future 

Washington’s future depends on a strong pipeline of skilled professionals ready to tackle complex challenges and help communities thrive. For over a decade, Parametrix has helped make that future possible through its partnership with WSOS, combining financial support with employee engagement to expand opportunities for students pursuing careers in high-demand fields. Parametrix has supported WSOS since 2015, building on the vision of former CEO Jeff Peacock, an early champion of the organization’s mission. Since then, the firm has contributed more than $100,000 to support Scholars across Washington.

But Parametrix’s impact reaches far beyond financial support. More than 50 employee-owners have volunteered with WSOS, including five former Opportunity Scholars who now bring their talents and experiences back to the community as professionals. Through mentorship, essay review and career-focused engagement, Parametrix employee-owners help Scholars navigate the path from education to career while offering firsthand insight into the opportunities waiting for them after graduation.

That commitment was especially evident this year when Parametrix participated in a Scholar career panel exploring “AI and early careers: what every scholar should know.” Led by Hicham Chatila, Director of Mobility and Data Technologies, the conversation helped Scholars better understand how emerging technologies are reshaping industries and what skills will be most valuable in an evolving workforce. By sharing expertise on real-world trends and career pathways, Parametrix is helping prepare students not only for their first job, but for long-term success in a rapidly changing world.

The partnership reflects a shared belief that investing in students strengthens communities, industries and Washington’s economy. As employers across the state seek skilled talent, Opportunity Scholars are stepping into high-demand careers and making meaningful contributions in their fields.
