Miller is a lawyer by training and started his professional career in private law practice, where his work included advising early-stage technology companies on financing and general business matters. While at Boeing, Adams opened the company’s first international R&D facility and created an internal incubator strategy designed to create business opportunities around Boeing technologies.

Following his successful career at Boeing, Adams joined Integral Systems, Inc. as executive vice president for corporate affairs, general counsel, and secretary. Adams directed all legal work and was responsible for an array of corporate functions, including human resources, facilities, contracts, procurement, government compliance, classified facilities, corporate security, quality, and export compliance.

Miller earned a BA from Seattle University and a JD from the University of Puget Sound School of Law (now Seattle University School of Law).
