Talus Bioscience is seeking highly motivated summer interns to join our team! These paid internships provide opportunities to own and participate in challenging and impactful business-critical projects at a thriving biotech start-up!
Internships are approximately 3-months (summer) in duration and the roles are performed on-site at our Seattle, WA laboratory under the supervision of PhD scientists. Relocation assistance benefits are not available for this job posting. Interns will participate in all lab meetings, team meetings, and the company summer retreat, as well as Talus social and team-building events. All positions require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and successful candidates will complement our culture and align with our core values. At the end of the internship, interns will present their project to the entire company.
Internship Description: Talus Bio is seeking a summer intern to develop innovative approaches to analyze proteomics data leveraging the latest advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence.This intern will be mentored by Dr. Will Fondrie, Head of Data Science & Engineering. The intern will work with the Data Science & Engineering team to pilot new computational methods that will enhance our ability to target previously undruggable proteins.
Target Applicant: Graduate or undergraduate student in bioinformatics, computer science, or related field
Status: Full-time role (40 hours/week); hourly (non-exempt) position
Required Skills and Experience: 2+ years of Python programming, 1+ years of machine learning with Scikit-Learn or similar, and 1+ years of deep learning with PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow
Assignments: Develop machine learning approaches to improve proteomics data analysis and drug discovery. The project will be aligned to the intern’s interests and experience.
