This year, WSOS collaborated with the Legislature to pass House Bill 1289, a significant milestone for our program. The bill gives our Board of Directors the flexibility needed to administer WSOS effectively while establishing a clear process to secure a dollar-for-dollar state match on every private dollar raised.

We owe a debt of gratitude to State Representative Julia Reed of the 36th Legislative District (Seattle), who played a pivotal role as the bill’s prime sponsor. Her leadership ensured unanimous support at every significant vote in the House and the Senate.
