How do I renew my scholarship?
What do I need to do each year to keep my scholarship?
Current Baccalaureate Scholars do not need to reapply for the scholarship each year. Instead, you will need to complete the annual Renewal form to renew your scholarship for the following academic year and to request summer funding if needed.
The form asks questions about your program to ensure that you are still studying a WSOS-eligible program at a WSOS-eligible college and to assess your satisfaction with the WSOS program.
The form opens in the spring each year, and Scholars are notified via email once the form is live with instructions on how to complete it.
Who needs to submit the Renewal form?
All Baccalaureate Scholars are required to submit the Renewal form each year to receive funding for the next academic year. Scholars who plan to take some time off from school or take a gap year are still required to submit the Renewal form.
The only exception is Scholars who have graduated/will graduate from their program by the end of the academic year. Please see the “What if I already graduated/will graduate from my program?” section below for more information.
If you’re not sure if you’ll be graduating, we suggest completing the Renewal form in case you end up continuing classes.
What if I already graduated/will graduate from my program?
Please complete the Graduation Form if you have already graduated or will graduate from your program by the end of the academic year. You can find the Graduation Form in the Scholar Portal under the “Submit Request” tab. Once you have graduated from your bachelor’s degree program, you are no longer eligible to receive BaS funding. Please complete the Graduation Form instead of the Renewal Form.
- If you plan to pursue an advanced degree as a nurse practitioner and are looking for scholarship funding, learn more about our Graduate Scholarship.
When do I need to submit the Renewal form?
You’ll receive an email each year about how to submit the Renewal form and when the deadline is. Typically, the deadline is in the spring. All Scholars must submit the Renewal form by the advertised deadline each year to maintain their scholarship. Scholars who do not complete the Renewal form by the deadline will be withdrawn from the scholarship and cannot be reinstated.
Scholars must also have a FAFSA/WASFA application for the upcoming academic year submitted AND processed by the Renewal deadline each year unless otherwise stated. Scholars who do not have a FAFSA/WASFA application processed by the Renewal form deadline will be withdrawn from the scholarship and cannot be reinstated.
- It can take 3-5 business days for your online FAFSA/WASFA application to be fully processed, so please do not wait until the last minute to submit it.
- If you plan to submit your FAFSA/WASFA by mail, please give yourself a couple of weeks to factor in processing time.
How do I submit the Renewal form?
